On Tuesday, last, the World Trade Center was essentially bombed by terrorists. I've resisted saying anything here about this because most people with blogs are doing the same. A few things to remember, I think:

  1. The time for negotiation is past. We have never really "negotiated" with terrorists, but there are a lot of people who are still calling for understanding and communication. The people who perpetrated and/or supported these acts do not deserve the luxury of discussion.

  2. To those handwringers who are afraid that a violent retaliation will begat more violence: there will be more violence if we do NOT retaliate and root out this evil.

  3. Terrorists, at least, this group of terrorists, want nothing from us. They don't want our money, our prosperity or our culture. They do not want to trade with us. They do not want us to treat them more nicely. They want us dead. There is no negotation with this kind of thinking.

I do not want war, but some things are definitely worth fighting for. These lousy bastards killed our people and anything we can do to destroy their ability to do it again should be done, and done as expeditiously as possible.
